What is Kebony?

Kebony is a Norwegian patented technology that modifies sustainable pine by impregnating it with bio-based furfuryl alcohol — a natural by-product from agricultural waste. The result is a wood with properties similar to tropical species, but without the environmental cost.
Kebony Clear Cladding (KLED) is the clearest variant — produced from heartwood-free pine with a smooth, consistent surface. Perfect for facade cladding on saunas, cabins and residential buildings that will stand for generations.

Kebony starts as warm, dark brown. Over months and years, a natural silver-grey patina forms — the result of UV light and moisture. This is not a sign of decay, but Kebony's most unique property.
The patination process varies depending on exposure to sun and rainfall. North-facing surfaces stay darker longer than south-facing ones.
